Located on the corner of Linden & Broadway, the Linden-Bushwick Block Association Garden is an oasis in the middle of the urban jungle. This island, known locally as the Secret Garden, has a long storied history, enjoying both highs and lows. In spite of the long-term care of community members, the garden has once again fallen on hard times and is at a critical juncture. We endeavor to breathe new life into the space by creating a farmer’s market to provide produce for local residents, and converting the garden’s “wild” section into a nature preserve and an "outdoor classroom" for area schools.
Canon and American Park Network invite New Yorkers from every borough and beyond to help restore the Linden-Bushwick Garden to its former glory. Join us as we remove detritus, invasive plants, rebuild walkways to make the garden a welcome destination for the community at large.
