For more than a one hundred years, the forests and wild lands of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountain Ranges have welcomed weary residents from Los Angeles, Orange County and beyond. Nestled among towering oaks and manzanitas between the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountain Ranges, San Bernardino National Forest is an veritable oasis with hundreds of miles trails and welcoming lakes and streams.
During that same century, officially policy that mandated suppressing wildfire has left California's forests and wild lands overgrown and ready to burn. Combined with years of drought, these policies resulted in the 2007 fires that scorched a half million acres across Southern California.
Canon and American Park Network invite Californians to celebrate the 15th annual National Public Lands Day by helping repair some of the damage done and begin reforesting the San Bernardino by planting the first of one million trees. Join us as we replant seedlings that will ensure the long-term survival of this vital habitat.
